Compass Health Network Prevention
Teens Teach Prevention is a substance use prevention program that prepares selected high school students, to deliver interactive prevention lessons to younger students. Student presenters receive training, presentation materials, scripts, and opportunities to practice before teaching lessons focused on vaping/THC, underage drinking, wellness, and resiliency.
What To Expect
- Schools select approximately 8–12 high school students, typically in grades 10–12, to participate.
- Students receive prepared slides, scripts, and presentation materials and typically work in teams of 3–4 during the training.
- Trained teams deliver prevention presentations to younger students, often in middle school classrooms.
Expected Outcomes
All Participating Students
- Increased knowledge of the risks associated with vaping, THC, and underage alcohol use
- Strengthened resiliency skills
- Increased confidence in making healthy, substance-free choices
High School Presenters Also Gain
- Improved public speaking and presentation skills
- Strengthened communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
